Dr. Gopakumar A.V

Dr. Gopakumar A.V has around fourteen years of teaching experience spanning Kristu Jayanti College, Manipal University, and Sikkim Manipal University. He started his media career with new media, and entered into magazine journalism as the correspondent and later as the Magazine Editor of an international health magazine “Internaturalhealth”. He was also the content editor of “Indriyum”, a web solution company based in Kerala. He got his doctoral degree in mass communication and journalism from the University of Mangalore, and published numerous research articles in national and international journals about films, new media and advertising. His areas of specialization are in semiological studies, and reporting and film studies.

Prof. Abraham has 21 years of teaching experience spanning Kristu Jayanti College, Baldwin Women’s Methodist College, NMKRV College for Women. He also has been a Guest Faculty for UGC sponsored career-oriented “add-on Course” in Journalism at Government First Grade College, Vijayanagar, Bangalore. He is at present a member of Board of Studies (BOS) [UG and PG] in Communication, Bangalore University. His areas of specialization are in Reporting, Editing and Media Laws.

Prof. Aby Augustine

Aby Augustine, an alumnus of Kristu Jayanti College, is a First Rank holder in Mass Communication and Journalism from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. Began his career as a content coordinator, layout and graphic designer in Jeevadooth- A General Interest Magazine run by Diocese of Kanjirapally, Kottayam, Kerala; has also compiled, edited and published Your Speeches (Vol 1 and 2) – ISBN no: 93-801334-4-8. He was one of the consultant editors for ‘Madhyama Charitram’ (Media History) Volume 1, First edition, September 8, 2013, ISBN no: 93-81504-85-7. Aby Augustine has Co-published a paper titled – “Deceptive Subliminal Strategies in Advertising: A study on the subliminal strategies in advertisements of Ariel, Cadbury’s, King Fisher, and Tata DoCoMo” (Communication and Journalism Research Vol3, Issue 1, December, 2014 ISSN No: 2348-5663) and also Co-Presented a paper titled – “Gestalt principles in Advertising Design: A study on the use of Gestaltism in print advertisements of Coca-Cola”. He has over 06 years of teaching experience and his specialized areas include Design Theory and Practice, Broadcast Journalism, Photography, and Advertising.

Dr. Juby Thomas

Dr. Juby Thomas has 7 years of experience and an industry exposure across diverse media platforms like Journalism, Photojournalism, and Public Relations. She holds the credit for numerous articles published nationally and internationally in Newspaper, Magazine and Online Media. Also published 7 research articles in reputed journals and attended several national and international seminars where she presented 13 research papers and won 2 best paper awards. She organized a UGC sponsored National level seminar in the year 2015 and completed a UGC minor research project in the year 2016. She is also the BOE and BOS member of 6 prestigious institutions in India and is a Member of Editorial board of International Journal of Mass Communication, journalism and politics. Juby received an MPhil in Media studies specializing in New Media and MS in Communication with a specialization in Visual Studies from Christ University, Bangalore and doctoral degree in mass communication and journalism from the University of Mangalore. She secured UGC NET in Mass Communication and Journalism in June 2011.  Prior to joining Kristu Jayanti College, she was working as an Assistant Professor at St Aloysius College, Mangalore and received ‘SAMBRAMA’ Award by the college for excellence in service for 3 successive years.


 Anju-Michael

Ms. Anju Michael 
Department of Journalism

Ms. Anju Michael has three years of teaching experience. An alumnus of Kristu Jayanti College, she completed her post-graduation from St Joseph’s College, Bangalore in MS Communication. Her academic career began as a journalism lecture at St Claret College, Bangalore. Prior to joining Kristu Jayanti College, she was working as an assistant professor at SES Govt Aided College, Kannur, Kerala. She has secured UGC NET in Mass Communication and Journalism in December 2015. Her areas of specialization are in Reporting, Print Journalism, Media Laws and Radio Broadcasting.
